The President to award the veterans of the war of 1941-1945 with commemorative medal
On February 19, 2015, the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov signed a decree “On awarding commemorative medal “Ikkinchi jahon urushidagi g’alabaning 70 yilligi” citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan, veterans of war and labor front of 1941-1945.
As stated in the decree of the President, the decision was done in order to honor the dignity and respect of citizens of Uzbekistan, veterans of war and labor front of 1941-1945, who made an invaluable contribution to the victory over fascism, in connection with the celebration the national holiday the Day of memory and honor on May 9, 2015, as well as the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the victory over fascism in World War II
The Decree established the commemorative medal in honor of the 70th anniversary of the victory over fascism in World War II of 1941-1945 “Ikkinchi jahon urushidagi g’alabaning 70 yilligi” (70th anniversary of Victory in World War II)
The document states, that the commemorative medal ” Ikkinchi jahon urushidagi g’alabaning 70 yilligi ” is awarded to citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan, participants and invalids of the Second World War, who were awarded medals “For Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945” and “For Victory over Japan” and other orders and medals received for military achievements during the war, or who have a document which approves them as a war veteran or a disabled World War II.
Additionally, participants of labor front with awards for their hard work during the Second World War, including the medal “For Valiant Labor in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945”, “For Labor Valor”, “For Distinction in Labour “or a document which proves the state at the full-time position of voluntary recruitment of civilians in the armed forces during the war of 1941-1945 will be awarded
Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Security Service in cooperation with the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare, Pension Fund under the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan entrusted to determine and submit to the Cabinet of Ministers of a specific list of veterans and disabled veterans, members of the labor front of 1941-1945 who are subject to the award of a commemorative anniversary medal “Ikkinchi jahon urushidagi g’alabaning 70 yilligi” within two weeks.
Besides, the decree entrusted the Cabinet of Ministers:
– within a month to ensure in the established order manufacturing of sommemorative medals “Ikkinchi jahon urushidagi g’alabaning 70 yilligi ” and forms of certificates to them together with the Central Bank and the PA “Davlat belgisi”
– until March 1,2015, to develop and approve the program of events dedicated to the celebration of the country’s 70th anniversary of the victory over fascism in World War II by providing it with measures rewarding veterans of war and labor front of 1941-1945 commemorative medal “Ikkinchi jahon urushidagi g’alabaning 70 yilligi” in a solemn and festive atmosphere
According to the decree, awarding commemorative medal “Ikkinchi jahon urushidagi g’alabaning 70 yilligi” is held in a solemn ceremony on behalf of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan by Minister of Defense, Chairman of the National Security Service, Minister of Internal Affairs, Chairman of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Chairman of Jokargy Kenes of Karakalpakstan, khokims of regions, cities and districts with the participation of representatives of local military administration, councils of war and labor veterans. Together with the commemorative medal the certificate of prescribed form is awarded. Commemorative medal “Ikkinchi jahon urushidagi g’alabaning 70 yilligi” is worn on the left side of chest.
Description of the commemorative medal “Ikkinchi jahon urushidagi g‘alabaning 70 yilligi”
Commemorative medal “Ikkinchi jahon urushidagi g’alabaning 70 yilligi” is made of copper alloy and is covered with gold of 0.25 micron thickness. The medal is a circle with a diameter of 32 millimeters.
On the obverse of the commemorative anniversary medal there is a monument “Motamsaro Ona” at the Eternal Flame memorial complex “Hotira Maydoni” which is shown on the background of diverging sunlight. From the leaft and right sides of the monument are figures 1945 and 2015, that refers to the year end of the Second World War and the jubilee year.
On the reverse side of the commemorative anniversary medal is the inscription “Ikkinchi jahon urushidagi g’alabaning 70 yilligi.” Inscription is enclosed in a laurel wreath, the branches of which are fastened at the base of eight-pointed star.
Image and inscription are convex.
The edges of the commemorative medal are bordered with rim.
The commemorative medal is connected to a pentagonal block with ring and eye and covered with silk ribbon which has colored stripes of the flag of the Republic of Uzbekistan 24mm width.
The width of the blue, green and white stripes are 7 mm, the width of red stripes are 1.5 mm. The height of the blocks is 48 mm, width is 45 mm. Mount is on the pin.

An up-to-date poultry farm has been commissioned in Fergana region
A 17 billion soums concessional loan empowered a private enterprise Vodiy Nasl Parranda to establish a process of nurturing 3.2 million pedigree chickens annually (currency rates of CB RU from 23.02.2015 1$= 2460.32 soums).
Poultry farming currently ranks among the fastest growing branches of the agricultural sector in Uzbekistan. Regions have been building new poultry farms operated by cutting edge technologies. The private enterprise Vodiy Nasl Parranda is one of successful examples in this field.
Originally, the farm grew about 80,000 birds resistant to various diseases, which produced 50,000 eggs per day on average. Advanced technologies have significantly expanded the range of activities and multiplied the production volumes owing to international selling exhibitions throughout the country. At one of such events the company purchased and then installed three imported advanced technologies designed for 120,000 birds. Besides, the company is currently installing another new line worth more than $400,000 to increase the production capacity and create new jobs.
“Poultry farming is a profitable business,” says the head of the enterprise Bohirjon Turdaliev. “At the beginning, we grew 200 birds. New conditions and opportunities, as well as development of targeted measures for further development have enabled us to significantly increase the production volumes. In the near future, we will be able to not just expand to the neighboring regions, but probably cover almost the whole of Uzbekistan.”

CEC registers observation missions of CIS and OSCE/ODIHR
Central Election Commission of Uzbekistan registered observation missions of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) for the presidential elections in the country.
The session of the CEC chaired by its chairman Mirzo-Ulugbek Abdusalomov adopted corresponding decisions on 21 February.
The press service of the CEC said that the commission invited large number of observers from Europe, Asia, America and Africa, as well as observation missions from international organizations to participate in upcoming presidential elections, which will be held on 29 March.
Currently, the main part of OSCE/ODIHR observation mission, which includes 12 persons, arrived in Uzbekistan.

On February 20, a regular meeting of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan was held.
During the meeting, the deputies reviewed the draft law “On Amendments to the Law of Republic of Uzbekistan” On prevention the iodine deficiency disorders” It is elaborated in accordance with the State Program “Year of a healthy child.” The adoption of the document is aimed at the prevention and reduction of iodine deficiency disorders among the population of the Republic of Uzbekistan by providing only high-quality iodized salt.
