On May 16, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in Andijan region to become familiar with the progress of reforms carried out on socio-economic development of the regions, major projects and implementation of these instructions.
As a result of reforms carried out in the country, the region is being comprehensively developed, cities and villages are being improved, the wellbeing of the population is rising. In particular, significant results have been achieved in development of industry, construction, pharmaceuticals, small business and private entrepreneurship, and the social sphere. There is an increase in all macroeconomic indicators.
In 2018, 411 projects worth 1.8 trillion soums were implemented within the framework of the Investment Program, over 12 thousand new jobs were created.
Due to implementation of projects with participation of foreign investments, large enterprises for production of import-substituting products worth 20.7 million USD were commissioned, and in Altinkul district – an enterprise with a production capacity of 33 million pairs of medical gloves per year.
In 2018, the region exported products for 211.2 million US dollars, the forecast figure was fulfilled by 124.2 percent. Manufactured products are exported to over 15 countries of the world, such as China, South Korea, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan, the United States, India, and Israel.
Significant work was carried out in the systems of water, electricity and road construction. Thus, last year 305 wells were built with a total cost of 305.6 billion soums, 1,228 kilometers of water pipelines, 608.7 kilometers of power lines were laid, 670 kilometers of internal roads were repaired, 294 transformers were installed.
During the visit to the region on May 19-20 last year, the President got acquainted with the progress of work on socio-economic development in other areas, with new projects, and gave instructions on their implementation. Over the past period, special attention was paid to the execution of these instructions.
A large-scale construction and landscaping activity was carried out in 50 makhallas of the region within the framework of “Obod qishloq” (Prosperous village) program. As a result, some makhallas were recognized as exemplary, and decent living conditions were created for the population.
In order to improve the living conditions of residents living in barrack-type houses of Mustakillik makhalla of Andijan city, 54 hectares of land area was allocated in Khojaabad district, on which a new makhalla Mustakillikning 27 yilligi was built. There are also 1000 accessible model houses, 2 schools, 2 preschool education institutions, a family clinic, a cultural center, a number of trade and service facilities, a sewing workshop for 500 workplaces.
In accordance with the Investment Program, construction and repair activities for 97 billion soums were carried out in 40 preschool education institutions, and in 30 institutions for 47.5 billion soums within the framework of “Obod qishloq” (Prosperous village) and “Obod makhalla” (Prosperous neighborhood) programs. In addition, current, overhaul and reconstruction activities were carried out at the expense of the local budget in 178 preschool education institutions. At the same time, in 2018, 168 private preschool education institutions were established.
During the visit, the President will become acquainted with implementation of a number of projects aimed at further development of the region, the execution of instructions given earlier, the needs and requirements of the population.
