Tashkent to host Contemporary Art Biennale

Since 2001, the Tashkent International Biennale of Contemporary Art has been held under the auspices of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan in cooperation with various ministries, agencies, embassies and international organizations.
The event is aimed at promoting interaction and exchanging artistic experience between artists and curators in contemporary art in many countries, raising the cultural and intellectual level of society, especially youth, strengthening cultural ties between peoples.

This year, the 9th Tashkent International Biennale of Contemporary Art will be held on October 24-28.

More than 100 artists take part in the biennale every year, about 30 percent of whom are foreign representatives.

Foreign artists from more than 20 countries are expected to participate in this year’s biennale.
