egyptian_expertFestive events dedicated to the anniversary of the state independence of Uzbekistan have been held these days in many cities around the world. Thus, a few days ago Cairo hosted a cultural evening on the occasion of this significant date.

Representatives of political, scientific, academic, cultural and business circles of Egypt, as well as heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Cairo have attended it.

The audience familiarized with detailed information on the achievements of Uzbekistan in the years of sovereign development undertaken in the country scale transformations in all areas of life.

It was particularly noted that in a short historical period the country has made impressive progress in state-building, socio-political and socio-economic spheres, which are widely recognized by the world community.

Addressing the event, Yasser Murad, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt expressed his heartfelt congratulations to the leadership and people of Uzbekistan and wished them further success in all endeavors.

The diplomat stressed the important role of our country in maintaining and strengthening stability and security in Central Asia. In his view, an important contribution in this regard has been the initiative of President Islam Karimov to establish a zone free of nuclear weapons.

Ya.Murad paid special attention to priorities of the Uzbek-Egyptian bilateral cooperation. In his view, the potential of our cooperation is very significant, including in trade and economic, investment, scientific and cultural spheres.

Chairman of the Society of Egyptian-Uzbek friendship Rufat Sakar said that over the past period Uzbekistan has achieved significant results, evidenced by the high rates of GDP growth and a radical improvement in the quality and standard of living. He also expressed hope for further strengthening and expansion of mutually beneficial relations between our countries.

During the event were shown documentaries about Uzbekistan’s achievements in various fields, rich spiritual and cultural heritage of our people.

The cultural evening was widely covered in the local media. For example, in the news programs of the Egyptian television channel Nile TV and Al-Cairo were translated special reports, devoted to this event.
